Discussions will recommend how to best handle preparations for pets, children & infants, and elderly family members; medication supplies, financial considerations and documentation, etc...

We have a collection of Legos waiting for your creativity! Kids ages 6 and up are invited to join us for Lego fun. We start with a suggestion or theme but the kids are also welcome to focus on their own ideas as well. At the end, kids share what they have made and projects are displayed in the library until Lego Club meets again and the building continues.

If your child is not exactly within the activity age range, just contact us ahead of time.

Please note that we do need a parent or guardian to remain onsite as per library policy.

Dolmathes - Stuffed Grape Leaves 

Mediterranean Cooking Class with Christina from My Mediterranean Kitchen,  For our class, we will be stuffing our grape leaves with hamburg, rice, scallions & fresh herbs/spices.

Each student will go home with a mezze (appetizer) plate of Dolmathes and a recipe card.

A $15 materials fee is paid to instructor and there is an 8 person limit. Class will run approximately 1 ½ - 2 hrs.

Suicide Prevention Workshop

The Casco Public Library is partnering with The JD Foundation to bring a very important workshop to our area on suicide prevention. This workshop will include education on warning signs, risk factors, protective factors of suicide as well as how to intervene with someone who may be suicidal. We will also be discussing the aftermath of suicide and  how we can help one another. The JD Foundation will talk about resources in your area and discuss ways we can improve those resources together.

In May 1940, Germany advanced into France, trapping Allied troops on the beaches of Dunkirk. Under air and ground cover from British and French forces, troops were slowly and methodically evacuated from the beach using every serviceable naval and civilian vessel that could be found. At the end of this heroic mission, 330,000 French, British, Belgian and Dutch soldiers were safely evacuated.
